How to Create an Excellent Creative with Clipping Path?
The whole idea of editing an image is to cut out the unwanted portions and retain the essence of the main composition. How to create an excellent creative with clipping path depends on the right use of the toolbox. Addition of a background and text will complete the creative.
This simple tutorial explains how to achieve scalable results in a few minutes with simple steps.
Let us assume that a jewelry client requires a fillip to the pack shot of two engagement diamond solitaire rings that are entwined. The best way to enhance the picture would be first to isolate the entwined rings. Once that is done, a background perhaps with gentle daises can be added. The entwined rings can be super imposed on it with appropriate text written below to attract the buyer. A high-resolution image in EPS is ideal as the final results can be sharper and more interesting.
Both images (entwined diamond rings and background of daises) should be handy to be worked on.
Start the task with the Pen Tool. This is the versatile tool that brings excellent results.
Create the path around the entwined rings. When you see lines moving around the path has been created. Cutting out the image is the way that is frequently used.
The path remains created.
Go to window and click on ‘Paths’. An entire menu opens.
From the upper right corner click “Make Selection”. Then click ‘Ok’.
Select the path by pressing the key “Command” and click on path manu. The selection will be created.
Go to edit and click on “Copy’” and “Past”, the new layer will be created with the desired part of engagement diamond solitaire rings.
Add a layer to add the background picture. Then superimpose the cut out to merge the two objects. It need not be central always. Be creative and place it beautifully. The rough layout or reference sample can be experimented with. Always click ‘Ok’ each time a tool is used.
And don’t forget to save the file. Select ‘Save As’ from the menu. Name the file well so it is identifiable to the printer.
It is essential that the file format be discussed between the client and the editor before making the final image. But for all practical purposes EPS is the best format. It brings out the sharpness in final image. For printing, it is the best format.
PS: A client can be shown the development in step 4 in case he needs changes. This is the time he can actually visualize the final result how it will look. Perhaps, the layout can be altered or background be changed. It is all possible at this stage.
